How I Built This Web Site

Hi

First of all, I'd like to thank you for visiting. Regarding your question on how to create a web page, I started by joining a free site www.Tripod.com . Other sites that host free web pages are I mentioned in my page My favorite sites - such as www.geocities.com , www.homestead.com, etc. You can try seach engines to look for a place to call home.

These sites usually have their own template, images , effects , etc. to facilitate the creation of a page. That's how I started. Then I moved to MS word 97 and used their templates (simply save the document as HTML). I uploaded the files I created via the utilities of Tripod. The other home sites have their own upload utilities as well. I was able to upload the graphics I had on my hard drive - you know, so that my web page would be somehow unique. I still use WORD to set up new pages, except for my recipe pages, where I used the Tripod template.

If you use your search engine, you can look for sites that evaluate your site, teach you the basics of HTML, etc.

You can try www.homestead.com because they have lots of templates. However, you can't include your own counters, banners, links, etc. as of now. Tripod is ok because it has features like answering machines, guestbooks, images (although I upload my images also). For images, however, tripod links to www.Lycos.com, which has a big collection of images. You can also include your own HTML codes, or customize those generated.

I hope this can help you start out you own web page.

Again, thanks for visiting.
